Extremely Rare Koloman Moser Jugendstil Art Nouveau Metal Cased Loetz Glass Vase
Height : 22.7 cm / 9. A copper cased Jugendstil glass vase, decorated with six turquoise-coloured glass, claw set cabochons. The Loetz pink glass body fades to a paler pink towards the base, with a green glass foot.
The vase and undulating rim are cased with a copper design, set with the cabochons, three set at the top in the'pinched'areas of the rim, and three around the everted base. This vase is attributed to Koloman Moser, one of the most important designers of Wiener Jugendstil / Viennese Art Nouveau. Please see the last two photos of similar items... One showing a Loetz Moser design using identical glass cabochons, and the other showing examples of the pink glass used by Moser for vases and glasses, leaving little doubt about the attribution. Offered in excellent condition throughout, with no chips, cracks or breaks.
The base has a ground Pontil, and lovely age related wear where it sits on a surface, as one would wish to see. Made at the turn of the last century, circa 1900, probably in conjunction with E Bakalowitz Sohne. An important, rare and exciting example of genuine Art Nouveau, metal-cased glass in wonderful condition. Will be very carefully and lovingly packed... Double boxed, and sent via tracked post.
