NORITAKE Antique ART NOUVEAU Jewelled Handpainted PINK Vase/Urn 9.75 c1908 vgc. It bears the Noritake, Made in Japan'spider'backstamp giving a date of c1908 (ref Robin Brewer's book on Noritake dinnerware).

The elegant urn, with heavily gilded'Nouveau'style twin handles, is centrally handpainted with superb landscape scenes of lake and trees. These are framed by bands of gilded scrolls while the body of the vase is further decorated with superb geometric patterns, garlands, ribbons etc all embellished with individually crafted, gilded'jewels'. The vase is in very good antique condition with no chips, cracks, crazing or repairs.

There is just a little expected wear to gilding, chiefly at the rims. The delightful cover is also very good although on close examination there is faint line between lid and finial which may be an old repair mentioned for completeness. The vase measures about 9.25 inches (23.75 cm) high to the top of the finial.
