Rare MINTON SECESSIONIST VASE 1908 ARTS AND CRAFTS JUGENDSTIL ART NOUVEAU

This a classic example from the great Mintons Secessionist Wares range which was designed by Leon Solon and John Wadsworth and launched by Mintons in 1902. The range of shapes, designs and colourings was added to over the years that followed during the production of the range. Good shapes were often used both for different designs and colourways. The flask, or carafe, shape of this vase was produced. (to current knowledge) in 5 differing colourways in this super and very flowing Art Nouveau design arguably one of the most stable vase shapes that Mintons ever produced!
Typically Mintons it crosses over the Jugendstil/Arts and Crafts boundaries with a great combination of a 4 times repeated flowing Tulip design and inverted hearts tubelined above transfer printed leaves. The vase is 9.75 inches (23.5 cms) high and 5.1 inches (13.1 cms) diameter across its widest part towards the base. The base is comprehensively marked with MINTONS impressed twice, the 4 digit shape number, painted colour code and the year code for 1908. The condition is good without damage or restoration. There is minor rubbing to the base as can be seen from a picture at 108 years old hardly surprising.
